Kaija & John were married in the backyard of Kaija’s grandfather’s home in White Bear Lake. Kaija drew on memories from her childhood summers for some of the details of the casual celebration: fresh summer daisies decorated the tables, Minnesota State Fair style cheese curds were served as appetizers, Kaija & John strolled down the aisle to jazz band Mouldy Figs playing theme from the cartoon Peanuts, and local ice cream bars were served as a late night snack.
Kaija wore a custom gown that was tea-length in front and longer in the back from Blue in New York City. Letterpressed invitations from Sarah Drake Design featured green summer grass. And, Kaija’s brother surprised the couple with fireworks after dark, a perfect ending to a perfect summer celebration.
